Safety and efficacy evaluation of pulsed dye laser ttreatment, CO2 ablative fractional resurfacing, and combined treatment for surgical scar clearance
Mohs surgical scarring in several male and female subjects was treated by a CO2RE laser, Vbeam pulsed dye treatments or combined treatments following suture removal. A significant improvement response rate was reported with all treatment types.

Study Details:25 healthy subjects (15 males, 10 females; mean age 61 years) with Mohs surgical scarring.Randomized to 3-4 CO2RE laser treatments, Vbeam pulsed dye laser treatments or combined treatments following suture removal.
Study Results:Vancouver Scar Scale assessment showed 83% significant improvement response rate with CO2RE & 100% response rate with combined treatments (see Figure). CO2RE treatments showed greater improvement with pigmentation, while Vbeam improved vascularity.
