Combination 1550 nm non-ablative fractional resurfacing and laser hair removal for treatment of Becker’s nevi in skin types III-VI*

It is difficult to effectively improve the hyperpigmentation and hypertrichosis associated with Becker’s Nevus (BN) with one modality. Non-ablative fractional resurfacing is effective at treating hyperpigmentation associated with Becker’s Nevus, and combination therapy with GentleMax Pro long-pulsed alexandrite or Nd:YAG treats underlying hypertrichosis and follicular stem cells. Targeting both epidermal and follicular melanocytes in patients with hypertrichotic BN likely reduces the chance of repigmentation.
