Candela seeks an experienced Director, Global Planning and Procurement, who will be responsible for establishing a strategy for demand planning, production planning, inventory planning, procurement, and commodity strategies. The position works closely with the regional sales, marketing and support teams, along with manufacturing and logistics to achieve service level and inventory goals. This role has primary responsibility for managing global vendor relationships, performance, and efficiency.
- Establish and implement global procurement strategies to support evolving business requirements and global supply chain strategies in partnership with Regional Sales Management and Strategic Business Unit Management
- Establish and implement global planning strategies to support evolving business requirements in partnership with Regional Sales Management and Strategic Business Unit Management
- Ensure achievement of service level, cash flow, and inventory goals.
- Set a vision which supports the global growth strategy, profitability objectives and customer requirements; and establish the necessary strategic imperatives which enable that vision
- Provide leadership in supporting a quality management system which embraces continuous improvement and employee engagement
- Provide functional global strategy to guide the daily execution, performance improvement and career development of the distribution and transportation, staff
- Establish and manage an operating system to oversee activities that are critical to the short-term and long-term success of the business and achieve key performance indicator goals
- Ensure both owned and 3PL distribution warehouses are sized, designed and staffed properly, in line with future requirements spanning volume, handling, storage, shipping and value-added service
- Evaluate spend and operating performance of transportation lanes to ensure performance is achieving stated goals and control thresholds
- Create long-term and short-term financial projections and key performance indicators
- Develop individual employees and teams within the organization
- Deliver results that meet or exceed the regional operating plan objectives
- Act with absolute integrity and professionalism and ensure integrity and compliance
- Establish and reinforce Candela’s desired culture and values within their organization
Essential Skills to be a top contributor in this role:
- Strong analytical, financial & P&L skills
- Lean/Six Sigma orientation and discipline
- Professional Certifications in APICS a plus
- In depth knowledge of key planning and logistics processes & current best practices
- Must have the ability to interact and execute at all levels of the company
- Strong results orientation, and ability to drive projects to a successful completion
- Value chain knowledge and customer centric mindset
- A minimum of a BS/BA degree in a relevant field
- MBA or MS in operations, logistics, or related area, preferred
- 10+ years of management experience of increasing responsibility
