Candela seeks an experienced Sr. Manager of Global Facilities and Environmental Health & Safety is responsible for managing facility operations and maintenance, including equipment, machinery, buildings and other facility related aspects.
In addition, this position is responsible for managing the environmental, industrial, health and safety regulation compliance for the global organization. This position plans, budgets and schedules facility modifications and oversees the development and implementation of environmental health and safety policies to be used throughout the organization. Some travel is required for this position.
Facilities
- Develop global facilities management strategy, guidelines, standards, KPIs (success metrics) and reporting.
- Plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs.
- Designs and develops organizational policies relevant to the facilities department.
- Oversees the coordination of building spaces allocation and layout, communication services and facilities expansions.
- Inspects construction and installation progress.
- Initiatives planned maintenance programs for a variety of office/manufacturing equipment.
- Responsible to ensure workspace is prepared for onboarding of new hires.
- Manage regional/national vendors for facilities repair & maintenance and employee services.
- Inform corporate and business unit management on facility conditions, responsibilities and decisions.
- Work with facility/office managers to trouble shoot issues as they arise.
- Build a high-performing, cohesive global team by coaching, directing & supporting team members
- Develop and direct implementation of space utilization plans in concert with IT and project management.
Environmental Health and Safety
- Manage the environmental, industrial, health and safety regulation compliance for all locations, globally.
- Oversees the development, planning and implementation of environmental, health a safety policy (Chemical Safety, illness and injury prevention, building safety etc.) used throughout the company.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to environmental safety and handle all contact with appropriate agencies.
- Oversee licensed hazardous and radioactive waste disposal and monitors waste handling.
- Develops and oversees company training programs for employees in areas such as safety compliance training, hazardous material handling, emergency response, industrial hygiene, and life safety.
- Act as point of contact in emergency situations regarding safety, and coordinate with Human Resources any necessary workers compensation claims.
- Ensures appropriate corrective action is taken where health and safety hazards exist.
Essential Skills to be a top contributor in this role:
- B.S. or associate degree with equivalent experience in Facilities management and Environmental Health and Safety.
- 5+ years leadership experience in Global Manufacturing/Medical Device environment with focus on EH&S.
